How to Care for Your Cilyon Leather Goods
Your Cilyon pieces are crafted to last generations — when treated with respect. Below are gentle guidelines to preserve their beauty and integrity.
Use with Intention
Avoid overloading your bag or using it for purposes beyond its design — doing so may distort shapes or strain seams.
Steer clear of sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that could scratch or scuff the leather.
Protect Against Moisture & Heat
Leather is a living material; it responds to water, humidity, and heat. If your item gets wet, blot gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
Do not rub vigorously — always pat, never scrub.
Store your pieces away from direct sunlight and intense artificial light, and keep them away from heat sources (radiators, car dashboards, etc.).
Avoid Harmful Substances
Keep your Cilyon leather away from chemicals: perfumes, makeup, oils, alcohol-based products, inks, and solvents can permanently damage both the finish and the structure.
Be especially cautious with light-colored leathers against dark fabrics or garments that may transfer dye.
Regular Rest & Maintenance
Give your pieces rest: rotate usage so the leather can recover its shape and natural suppleness.
When stored, lay your bag in its dust bag or soft cloth, and stuff it with acid-free tissue or soft fabric to maintain volume without stress.
Avoid plastic wraps — they trap moisture and disturb the leather’s ability to “breathe.”
Gentle Cleaning & Periodic Care
Use a very soft, dry microfiber cloth or suede brush (for textured leathers) to dust the surface lightly.
Never submerge your item or use harsh cleaners.
For deeper cleaning or restoration, trust only authorized Cilyon artisans or approved leather care professionals who understand couture leather.
Embrace the Patina
Over time, your Cilyon piece may develop subtle marks, soft creases, and a gentle sheen — these are not flaws, but signatures of use and life.
They reflect the hand, the journey, and the evolving character of your piece.
